September 20, 2008 Visit to Lake Luzerne to compare their matting methodology to ours. Same materials are used, with a different method of deployment. Use of their deployment methodology is impractical in Eagle Lake due to different epth and bottom conditions, however recovery methods are possible.
September 19, 2008 Beaver dam removal from the area between the boat launch and spillway.
September 18, 2008 Permit issued for the trapping and removal of beavers and their dams in Eagle Lake for 2008.
September 4, 2008 Tier 3 plant survey conducted by Allied Biological of the proposed herbicide treatment sites
August 2008
August 23, 2008 The end of week 7 of diving; no diving took place this week.
August 16, 2008 The end of week 6 of diving; ~43002 feet of mats placed and ~600lbs of milfoil removed.
August 15, 2008 The last of the boards have been removed from the spillway with the hope that baring any additional rain fall, the lake will reach a normal height by the fall.

The end of week 5 of diving; ~30002 feet of mats placed and ~800lbs of milfoil removed.
August 7, 2008 Fred Dunlap NYS DEC okays the use of lumber tarp material for benthic mats.
August 4, 2008 The ELPOI takes delivery of 60,0002 feet of lumber tarp material for use as benthic mats.
August 2, 2008 The end of week 4 of diving; no mats were placed due to the need for more to be fabricated, and bad weather kept us to only ~400lbs of milfoil removed.
August 1, 2008 A car accident occured on Eagle Lake in front of Jim Shultz's property. There were no injuries reported, however traffic was slowed for about 2 hours. Thanks to the local first responders who came to assist.
The ELPOI takes delivery of ~3,600lbs of steel rod for ballast for additional benthic mats.
July 2008
July 29, 2008 A moose was sighted on Eagle Lake. Tonya Condon's e-mail on the sighting.
July 25,2008 The end of week 3 of diving; finished the last of the mill wire from International Paper with ~11002 feet of mats placed and ~1000lbs of milfoil removed..
July 24, 2008 Permit applications were submitted to the APA to allow hand harvesting/matting in waters less than 2 meters.

May 24, 2008 The board met to discuss the upcoming annual meeting, as well as on going progess for the milfoil removal project scheduled for this summer. Meeting minutes available here.
